“Sparrows Keep” Leather Cuff – Sealed Collection

$29.00 $20.00

These cuffs look great for a casual reminder to consider the lessons that sparrows teach us about our relationship with God.  They are humble creatures, yet He considers their lives (Matthew 10:29).  They “make their home (nest)” by the altar of God (Psalm 84:3) – near the center of worship.  We, too, can make worship our “home”, the center of our lives.

“Sealed” wraps remind me of ancient customs of binding the wrists of two individuals when they entered into a covenant.  We Christians are in covenant with God, a covenant sealed by the Holy Spirit; these wraps are an edgy visual reminder.

Wrap is 8.5 inches long including the clasp that adjust down to a 7.5 inch bracelet.  It will arrive in a hand-folded gift box made from vintage papers.

Product Description

I don’t wear much jewelry – sometimes not even earrings in my pierced ear lobes…

But – I love cuff bracelets!  I love to layer them up my wrist!  One day as I was contemplating the discernable draw to wear a cuff, whether I wore any other piece of jewelry or not, I did a little research.  Did you know that people have worn bracelets since the beginning of time?  What I really delighted in was to find that there is a connection to warfare – you see God calls all His children into spiritual warfare – we have a foe that wants only to “kill us, steal from us, and destroy us” (John 10:10); He trains our arms for battle (Psalm 18:34) and our weapons for this war are unique (2 Corinthians 10:4).

History shows us that bracelets became increasingly popular with men during Grecian times – soldiers wore defensive bands of leather often decorated with gold, silver, and other gemstones on their forearms. They were called Bracels, from the Latin term for arm, “Brachium“. The Grecian women realized that these accessories would look good on them, so they began wearing smaller versions – called Bracel-ets. The idea became popular and the fashion spread far and wide.  A bracelet is also a small brace or bracer (an arm-guard used by archers).  (Adaped from: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dr._Mark_Clayson)
