Sparrows are so inspiring to me lately – graceful and delicate; tenacious and loyal; common yet endearing.  It seems that the Lord has a special place in His heart for these little winged creatures.  He speaks of them often – just type in “swallow” in your favorite Bible search engine…

I think of this verse when I look at this little painting:

“Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”  Matthew 10:29-31

Painted on 140 lb. cold press Canon Watercolor paper. The watercolor is mounted on tan linen and framed in a vintage 5″ x 7″ wood frame. The light from a side window makes a diagonal glare across the glass of the frame that almost looks like a wrinkle in the mat fabric, but I promise it is only a glare!
