Nesting Place – SOLD!!

Sometimes I like working with a neutral palette – and the idea of “wabi-sabi” that brings a tranquility to my artistic heart…Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese aesthetic, indeed the embracing of a “way of life” that embraces the beauty of the worn, the long cared for, re-used, re-cycled, re-membered things and celebrates the simplicity of such. In this piece, vintage novel pages and old lace mix with mulberry paper scraps (a Japanese style paper).

A collection of found objects is gathered, such as a momma bird might need in order to fashion the perfect home for her eggs. String, a branch, inspirational words, a beautiful feather take on new meaning when seen as the foundation of home and life.   And this is the true spirit of every woman, of you(!), when you are creating a “nest”, a home, a sanctuary for your family – you take what is available, what you have and what you can find, and weave it all together to fashion – HOME!

The frame is included with this artwork. The dimensions quoted include the frame.

One photo shows a blue egg attached to the nest, and can be added at your request, but the collage is sold without as shown in the main image.

Signed and dated on the front.

Frame and box are handpainted and distressed – measuring approximately 6 inches by 13 inches at the outside diameters…it is approximately 0.5 inches deep.
This artwork is inspired by this verse of Scripture:  “Even the sparrow has found a home; and the swallow a nest for herself.  Psalm 84:3.”

The piece is signed and dated on the back; it comes ready for hanging.
